Current and Proposed Layout and Use of School Playing Field

 

For those of you not so familiar with the layout or nomenclature of the area occupied by FCC, here is a satellite view that should explain everything:

 

 

The top part of School Playing Field contains a small cricket pitch with a single artificial wicket. The wicket itself is nearing the end of its useful life and the boundary is less than fifty metres to the north and the south:

 

 

We will make a slight improvement to the total playing area this year by adjusting the boundaries:

 

 

 

But… this pitch is still not a suitable playing area for the level of cricket played there - currently East of Scotland Division 5. Normally this pitch would only be used every second Saturday for 3rd XI home league fixtures, a few junior games and a bit of practice but this year will see more competitive use on both Saturdays and Sundays.

 

The proposal is that Falkland Cricket Club gives up this ground as there is an intention to develop the whole School Playing Field as a camp site. To see where we propose to play instead, continue on to the next link below.
