Falkland Activity Centre

Current and Proposed Layout and Use of Lower Scroggie

Lower Scroggie is currently an agricultural field. It has been ploughed recently and a crop of barley is being planted for September harvesting. It has a reasonably steep and consistent slope from south to north. The only access at the moment is from the larger field to the east which has an entrance from the A912 to the north and another at its south-west corner nearest Scroggie Park. Lower Scroggie is the only one of the three areas capable of holding a full-size cricket pitch.

The full proposal for the development of Lower Scroggie is shown below:

April 2016

Summer 2017

Grass wickets on Lower Scroggie become playable and 1st & 2nd XIs move there with 3rd XI and Sunday team switching to Scroggie

There is a fair amount of flexibility built into this plan. The timescales given above are for illustrative purposes only. They can be accelerated if all the necessary resources become available earlier. The one aspect which cannot change is the early September 2014 delivery of the prefabricated structure. If it doesn’t happen then it will not happen at all.
